Tragic story….but let’s put into perspective for a minute. The lady that was crying….did she cry for the hundreds of little boys and girls that got bomb shrapnel through their abdomens and heads when the Israelis attack Gaza? Why isn’t anyone crying over that? You’re talking hundreds of innocent kids dead and thousands more injured. A death of a young child is always tragic, but we choose to cover this over the Gaza kids. Why? Because this was an American kid and not Palestinian kids?

so sad, we had a young man killed in a Monster Truck /Truck Race a few years ago in Tucson. They did the same thing and kept the race going. Everybody in the stands knew he was dead (Truck flipped over and crush the cab – no rollbar) and about a third left. so sorry for this young boys father..

My young son wrote that last comment from my computer and it is far from my views of this matter. I have three kids and they all race quarter midget race cars and everytine they get into their cars I worry that something might happen. My thought and prayers go out to the family and I hope that the promoter looks into safety measures to prevent this from ever happening again.

It is very sad indeed that the little boy died. The thing that gets some people upset (I imagine) is that he died in a bizarre and wholly unnecessary environment. If the poor soul had died of asthma, there would be no Youtube video posted. Thousands of children die around the world each day, just not at Monster Truck Shows. They don’t get videos, either.

That was a stupid thing to say chicagoray40, for all the driver knew at the time was that his transmission had a massive failure. He was doing his best to do what the officals told him to do and get the truck off of the track.
Unfortunately when you go to any event that involves high speed/high power vehicles there is a risk of spectator injury whether it be an airshow or motorsports event. This was just a freak accident that is very tragic
